8) DOES THE BAUD RATE ON THE CONVERTER NEED TO BE SET IN ORDER FOR THE CONVERTER TO WORK?
Answer: Our converters auto-detect and self-adjust to the data format (baud rate, data bits, parity bit, stop bits) used by the serial devices to which our converters are attached. Note that the baud rate, data bits, parity bit, and stop bits settings must be consistent between devices communicating over a network for the data transfer to be successful. i.e., a DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) and a the DCE (Data Circuit-terminating Equipment) must each be setup with the same baud rate, data bits, parity bit, and stop bits settings in order to communicate successfully.
