Frequently Asked Questions
TTL QUESTIONS
3) WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF SERIAL DATA OUTPUT ON THE TTL SIGNAL LINE OF AN RS232 TO TTL OR RS485 TO TTL CONVERTER?
Answer: The entire contents of the serial data packet, consisting of the Start Bit, Parity Bit, Data Bits, and Stop Bit(s) are translated to the TTL output as a serial data stream. To set the TTL output low or high, set the entire serial data packet with low (logic 0) or high (logic 1) bits. For example, to set the TTL output high, set all the bits in the serial data packet (i.e., the Start Bit, Parity Bit, Data Bits, and Stop Bits) to high (logic 1).
